Sorry I have been missing in action lately. I just had no time to stamp.

We came home from our vacation to lots of laundry and dirty looking water. Well the water heater was acting up and so was our pressure tank (took off the pipe and it was broken so that is the leak and it was almost corroded shut so that would be why the pressure tank went out), so last week we replaced them only to STILL have dirty water. So Wednesday we opened up the well (we have a 30ft. hand dug well) and see that the water was running back into the well. So after a few calls we got a hold of someone to come dig up our water line. Dan was pulling up the well pump to "get ready" for the guy to come dig and found out that the well pump was shot!! So after running to town replacing that and then waiting for the guy to come dig the hole we finally get the hole dug and lucky for us it was right by the well opening. We replaced the pipe (it had 3 holes rusted in it) with PVC so it will not rust again!! lol At least it better not go to heck on us now as we have a lot of money in the system now.. So now the water is getting better and I have LOTS of laundry to catch up on.

So Monday my new catalog order comes so hoping to be caught up, and clean up a space to stamp again!!

Day 7 in Alaska

This was our final day in Anchorage. Dan and I loved it here and wouldn't be to hard to convince us to live there!!! We stopped at the Wildlife Conservation Center and saw a lot of animals there. Then drove to Wittier and boarded a cruise boat to explore Prince Williams Sound. That was an awesome tour and I got on videotape glacier calving, which is where a part of it breaks off and hits the water with an amazing sound!! We had a nice onboard lunch of salmon and Prime rib. After that we headed up Mount Alyeska to ride the Aerial Tramway which was a bit frightening hanging there by a cable up the mountain but the scenery was incredible!!

Day 6 in Alaska

Today was a slower day than the rest of them. We headed to Anchorage and stopped at the Oomingmak Cooperative, trust me you don't NEED to stop there!! Then headed to the hotel for the rest of the day was ours to explore. Dan and I and 2 other couples rented a mini van and drove to Seward to see what was down there. It was a beautiful drive.

Here is a picture of salmon spawning. It was in a creek just off the highway. They are just huge salmon. There were red ones too.

Day 5 in Alaska

Today we went to Palmer to visit the Havermeister's Dairy Farm and the creamery where they ship their milk to.

Then we went to this restraunt, can't remember the name but it was "gourmet" food which really meant YOU GOT NOTHING TO EAT FOR LOTS OF MONEY!! It was good salad and turkey pot pie, just not enough to "fill" a lot of the people on the trip. lol Here is a picture of our salad. They focused on presentation mostly, as you weren't even allowed to sit down until THEY were ready for you to sit.

After that we headed to the Musk Ox farm which was very interesting. Their Qiviut (fine under-wool of the musk ox) is very soft and 8 times warmer than wool.

The final stop for the day was at Pyra's Pioneer Peak farm where they grow vegetables for people to pick and pay for. Their vegetables are very big in Alaska too!!

I am trying to post pictures just that they won't load..

Day 5 of Alaska!!

Wow another awesome day. We toured one of the few (only 5 in the state) dairy farms working yet today, and then went to the creamery where they send their milk. We visited 2 Musk Ox farms and they were so cool. They make the softest (and most expensive) sweaters, hats and scarves out of their "fur" that it is incredible. They had a sweater in the 2nd one for only a mere $780 lol We had the Alaska Ag agent riding with us today so he gave us an awesome tour. Now we are in the hotel room and going to order pizza in the room with a few other couples.

Look at these berries at the veggie/fruit farm we went to also. They grow these in a greenhouse setting and looked delish!!! This was a huge farm that people come and pick their own stuff and then just pay for what they pick. They brought us yellow raspberries, strawberries and of course snow peas, broccoli, and radishes for a snack after the tour!!

and finally look at this view out our balcony to our room!!! It is just incredible isn't it???

Day 4 in Alaska

Here is how we took the dogs out. This was just a rush!! They then put on a nice dinner. We had pork tenderloin made on the grill and put in a sandwich, awesome coleslaw, pickles, and cheesecake with a strawberry in whipped cream for dessert... YUUUUUUUUUUMY

We had so much fun today. We did a lot of riding in the bus but was fun this afternoon especially. We "rode" behind some sled dogs in a Gator ATV. What a rush!!!
Here are 3 of the 5 new little 5 day old "sled dogs" They were super cute

Day 3 in Alaska

We saw Mt. McKinley today. It was an awesome day. I have tons of pictures of it too :) He said it is about the first day in a few weeks you got a good view of it!!!

Here it is w/o us in it... lol I just think it is so beautiful!!!

OK.. Monday we had a very long day too. We took this riverboat for a cruise down the river. It was a good cruise down the river and relaxing. I managed to find a neat scrapbook in their giftshop so will have some scrappin to do when I get home!

We are in Alaska!!!!

Our afternoon on Sunday was long but we made it. Here is a picture out of the airplane window almost to Alaska. Was a good flight but Northwest airlines doesn't give out anything for snacks except soda and water. It was 5 1/2 hour flight too

Monday, August 4, 2008

Well I have been MIA lately as this last weekend was our yearly "outing". We went to Hutchinson Minnesota for the Orange Spectacular show on Saturday. That is a show, which for me is a bit boring, but of all Orange Allis Chalmers tractors. We stayed there until almost the end then headed to our hotel in Hutchinson for the night. Here is a picture of my oldest 2 showing off their new hats we bought!

Then Sunday we went to the Minnesota zoo. We spent the day there and headed home. Now to get things lined up to leave for Alaska on August 10th!! Here is a picture of their aquarium. It was hard to get pictures of certain fish. We just missed the guy that was in there cleaning up a few things.

They also had an area that had lots of different butterflies in. It was hard to get a picture but we did manage a few for the fair. This is one of them. I thought the blue color was just awesome but this one was always opening and closing it's wings so hard to get a good picture! It was a great weekend though and the kids had fun too.

another quick card with that layout and design. These stamps are perfect for this kind of card and the Nestabilities are awesome of course!!

Monday, July 7, 2008

I haven't picked up a stamp in so long it felt good to finally stamp SOMETHING!!! We have been working in the fields with our 1st crop hay (done now) and then we had to put up the oats and peas in the silo too (done now too) The only problem is now we need to start on 2nd crop hay to be done by the 26th as we are headed to Hutchinson Minnesota for the Orange Spetacular (a bunch of Orange Allis Chalmers tractors) Actually the guys are headed there and us gals are going shopping!! We are going with another couple that farm with all Allis tractors too. For this gathering you have to book your hotel WAY ahead of time so we have one right down from the site this year as last year we almost didn't get a hotel room...

This is what is in the pockets! I made this card so that it opens just like a regular card so nobody tries to "tear" the pockets in it. The bird is popped out a bit with double glue dots! Just ignore the "dirty" look to the card photos... My scanner really needs a good cleaning

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

I took these pictures on Saturday, being the first day of summer, as I have some later blooming lilacs. They are so great smelling as we planted them right outside our windows...

Thought I shared this with you all but must not have. This is the 3rd one of these stationary boxes I made. I just love making these, they are fun!!

Had this retired, Friends and Flowers Simply Scrappin kit from Stampin Up laying around so thought I would use it. I have since put in the blue flowered paper in the pen so that it matches the rest of the stuff!!

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Made this hoping to sell some of these at my moms garage sale next weekend. I am taking the stationary boxes that I have posted here, there too :) I love my papertrey label stamps and the tins I used the SU rub-ons. They are super fun to use!! I still need to work on some card box sets yet as I ordered the clear boxes to put them in from Papertrey too :) I still need to put a ribbon around and add a tag!

Sunday, June 8, 2008

I totally cased this from stampinjewelsd on SCS here. I put the stamp envelope upside down as someone pointed out that the stamps would always be falling out when closed!! Not much stamping as I used Summer Days Simply Scrappin Kit from Stampin Up!

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Ok.. didn't feel like stamping so did up one of these Stationary boxes that my friend Bevie Pearl showed me. They are fun but they are work! The only stamping I did was putting the Thank You on the cards and 3x3 cards too.

Here is where I got the pattern. She has an awesome blog too!!

Here it is open. There are 4 easy cards, 4 3x3 cards 4 gift tags, the address book, made with ruled tablet paper, is taped in there along with the little pocket envelope to put the stamps in. I also added the Designer paper to the pen to make it all match!

Here is everything in it. Ignore the cups! lol
